   It is normal for small and medium enterprises / organizations to acquire the initial net presence, by creating  a basic web site.   

   Brochure ware : In these web sites, shops / stores / companies / market places / institutions / organizations etc., create web presence by displaying their goods or services on the net. This is a kind of brochure-ware stage for the company. 

   Medium : Internet primarily assumes the role of  a display medium. Besides the merchandise information, contact details including e-mail address etc., are given.  This way, the net also becomes a communication medium.

   Types of Pages : In such basic sites, web pages are normally static. They may / usually  contain text / pictures / drawings in the form of artwork or design work. 

   In a few instances interactive pages or dynamic pages are also included in the web site for important process automation of the organization. These dynamic pages could include filling of forms etc. Dynamic or interactive pages on the net require activation of database on the internet server. This of course, is the simplest form of web existence for a web site.
